I drove over at slow speed with the front left the block thing they used to hold up temporary fencing, no damage to the car but would of cracked the part where the oil pipes join. It really is in a c*#t of a spot.

Called a dealer today - thanks to the spare parts guys at Q-Ford Springwood who were very helpful. They confirmed there are two versions. Can someone please confirm what the FG F6 'larger' part number is. The territory version apprently has slighty a different mount?

I think the FPV version will be 6R79-7A095-AA. Cheers, Bomber.

OK, '09 FG F6 has 8R29-7A095-CC fitted. So, not KTM or Mahle - made in China. Will at least be able to go back to Ford now and check what's the current replacement.

Whilst the above number was for the bigger version (and it is by 10mm depth over mine) the question still remains - what version causes the strawberry milkshake? China special, KTM, or Mahle? It would be pointless fitting the bigger one if it still fails.

Does seem odd that FG have had so many but all I can do is go with the current F6 version and hope build quality issues have been improved.

I was having big drama's with my box nigh on 7 months ago, 117k's on the clock. All the drama's going into limp mode etc etc...took it to my trans specialist in the gong...up on the hoist.

Popped the plug on the side, out rushed about 100ml's of dirty oil, resembled thick black dirty diesel oil.

Steel pan conversion, new filter, new oils and PWR transcooler installed along with CV tune. Could not be happier. Shifts firm and fast everytime.

Cost close to $1100 for everything, would like to know the clown who beleived the box doesnt need to be serviced. Il definatly be dropping the pan and changing the filter and oil every 30000k's.

Awesome write up Dillz, wish it was up in june, would have saved me alot of ringing around and heartache :)
