Price this up and let me know how you go, I was itching to do it with my G6E 19's, and I'd love the rims I have now and some nice 275wide invo's on the rear

My only concern is what happens if the weld fails

I have seen pics of widened alloys that have, and I don't wanna crash due to mechanical error...

The only other negative is if you want less offset you need to run spacers and possibly longer wheel studs too... Although 5mm spacers fit fine with enough thread to secure the wheels

On a BA BF you can have a maximum 182mm backspace, this only leaves you 2mm clearance to the trailing arm. I would assume the donor rim width will be added to the inside. So a standard ba bf twist rim which is 8.0 inches wide +36 and has a backspace of 151mm. So you can add about 30mm to make the rims 9 1/4.

You want more power to the ground? Put stickier tyres on! Will make more difference than getting them a little wider I'd say?

This depends on what tyres you are running now and is the rear suspension set up for grip or looks?

JOISUS Berzerker... That looks impressive mate and a dyi too! Very aggressive stealth looking...

I'm now thinking of taking them to a paintshop and getting only the unpainted sections of the wheel painted. This will leave the already grey details there and think it would work well. It guess it would be good to get them topped with a clearcoat to finish them off too.

Cheers yeah I was more surprised than anyone that they turned out that well, and to last without chips too.

Theyre genuine too not knockoffs so I was a bit hesitant but wouldnt go back now

I only painted the silver face part too, the grey inner was left untouched.

Could I be a pest and ask for another photo (or 2) in the day light with more natural lighting so I can see the actual detail?

I was thinking you'd run a 5mm spacer also or get them to add that to change the offset. That way, you could acheive a 9.5" rim which would clear the rear suspension.

Like I said earlier though, it's around a $300 dollar exercise per rim + the donor, so not cheap. Ideally, you want someone that has rashed some really badly and get them cheap as, keeping in mind you are only using the back roll and around 1.5" of the donor.

They would be one of a kind done - awesome.

:stupid:

This is a much smarter, better, legal way to get grip.

Agreed, but boring. Love stuff that is different and admire people that go to the trouble of making something unique. These guys do some really cool cut 'n shuts with rims Dillz. I'd look at it myself except the snowflakes won't clear big brakes and 18's will foul on the rear suspension if stepped in.
