I was just wondering if someone can help me with the pro's and con's of the XR6T and the XR8.

I was told today that an XR6T is likely to have more issues than the XR8 and needs to have more services more often (say every 3 months) whereas the XR8 only needs servicing once ever 6 months.

Just wondering if any of you can shed some light of this.

Thanks!

not sure where to start with this.

its probably best to do some searches for this, you will get all the information you need.

as for one needing servicing more often than the other is b.s.

the xr6t is faster, the xr8 sounds nicer if that's your thing.

I love the sound of my turbo, but can aslo see the appeal of a v8 as have had several in the past.

what car are you looking at?

as if its a new car be aware the xr8 no longer exists and the only available option is the fpv gs. that comes in a supercharged 5.0L

I had this dilemma as well, I test drove both and the turbo is faster, better on fuel, more nimble, but if you mean the new supercharged 5.0 that's a different story.

XR8 is more reliable. But is also slower, uses sh*tloads of petrol. Does sound mint with an exhaust though. And they're not much slower than a stock XR6T either.

Mick had 11.7ish but had done pulleys, diff, slicks, removed some weight, headers, exhaust, cats and a few other minor things... Farking quick though!!!

I thrashed a workmates FG XR8 6m and was like meh...

Sounder almost ok with just catback only, but still not as nice as the system I had on the soarer, also it was as slow as a fat kid on a bmx, just as it was about to feel like it was going bam rev limit next gear, for me it was about as exciting as driving a Golf Diesel and compared to my then stock G6Et the XR8 was really missing the feeling you get in your gut when accelerating hard

Haven't driven an auto one yet though so can't compare, but I like my truck motors in trucks

Havn't driven the new 5L xr8 but anything before that fords never had anything on holen when it comes to 8's

You'll be paying more for insurance and fuel anyways, turbo 6 is just as fast if not faster

I'm proud of my 4jz :)
