DBA4000's are a cheap good upgrade, I have used these for the last couple of years, cost was approx $450 for rotors and pads, other option is brembos, sometimes they come up for sale in classified section but are usually $1500+ and aren't really needed unless you plan on using the car for track days imo....

If you are going to go Brembo's consider the cost option vs gains. My opinion would be go with some better rotors and good pads and if your budget and desired outcome allow go from there, also look into front and rear bushes as preventative to premature brake failures/warping. Speak with Racebrakes and check out the cost options he has going from memory $600-700 will get your some new rotors and pads (front only) and see your braking improve on a good budget, DBA T3 from memory. Other option is do some ebay scouting and look into some auto salvage places. just my 2c

I was going to install the dba 4000 rotors and some better pads but found some brembos at a price I couldnt pass up so will be going that option.

by all accounts the rotor and pad upgrade is more than enough for most if its street duties only.

keep in mind if you go brembos you will more than likely need new wheels to clear them.

I will be selling the dba 4000 front and rear that I have + braided lines shortly if your interested. less than 5000klms on them.

pm me if your interested.

Very sound advice unclewal.

Brembos do feel like overkill for the street coming from standard xr6t brakes, but in saying that its pretty damn nice once they are warm and you hit the anchors...

If you get stuck Call Matt at Racebrakes Sydney. He is very good at wat he does

I wouldn't give up my big brakes for anything. I too came from std brakes and found them wanting when hitting them hard. I do agree however that a good set of rotors/pads and braided lines would probably suffice for most road applications. But if you have the cash then a good set of big brakes can't be beaten, once you driven a car with a set you won't look back. The things I like are the brake pedal feel and the responsiveness, go jump in a car with big brakes to get an idea of what to expect.

Brembo 6/4 kit is around $4500, Harrop Monster kit is around $5200(prices supply only, all parts included) both very similar in performance with Harrops having a slight edge. Just remember you will need new wheels, as no stock FG wheels(FPV wheels will be ok though) will fit over these brake kits. Also be prepared for increased ongoing costs associated with rotors and pads

Be careful with pad selection, more often the pads don't work that well cold, low dust pads usually fall into this catergory. Too hard a pad will chew your rotors out prematurely, better to replace the cheaper pads more often than have to replace more costly rotors.

Set your goal and budget for your brake requirements then call Race Brakes in Sydney They will give you the best possible advice and come up with a solution suited to your needs. Even if you don't buy from them, their advice will help you decide what to do.
