You mix it up similar to normal clear, except its very opaque in colour and seems a bit thicker. It dries a bit slower (you have to use Slow or Medium thinner) and it dries to a nice dull matte finish. You could use it on top of any basecoat, including metallics, 3 layer pearls or harlequin...etc.Otherwise they may be a direct gloss with lots of matting base added to it, which would work well on the solid (non metallic) colours.
