I painted some bits for a truck last week at work, and I used for the first time a Matte Clear. You mix it up similar to normal clear, except its very opaque in colour and seems a bit thicker. It dries a bit slower (you have to use Slow or Medium thinner) and it dries to a nice dull matte finish. You could use it on top of any basecoat, including metallics, 3 layer pearls or harlequin...etc.

Otherwise they may be a direct gloss with lots of matting base added to it, which would work well on the solid (non metallic) colours.

how does it go for orange peel? In the pics it looks so freeekin flat !

Would it need a cut and polish to make it look smooth or does it look nice off the gun?

im keen to try this out soon if I can get my hands on the stuff.

Off the gun the parts I painted came out very flat, no cutting or anything was needed once it was dry.

You may find also that some of the exotics I posted before may be vinyl wrapped as well, which is another option.
