Hey guys,

Just hoping someone here can help me out. I just wanted to know what each wire is that goes into the BA Premium Sound Factory Amplifier for the Rear Sub. I've seen the wiring diagram from another forum but it doesn't really help me. I've taken a few photos of the plug which I can upload too, but if someone knows what each wire does I won't bother uploading the pics.

This was my christmas holiday project and so far so good, this is my next step.

Cheers Mick

Hi guys,

I haven't had a chance to measure the output level from the ICC to the sub amp, is the thin yellow and black cable running at Line level or at Speaker level??

Gasman, I understand that your recommending to run a Hi to Lo line converter into the system, meaning the ICC is actually outputting an amplified speaker level already, then the factory sub is receiving that signal, then amplifying that again.

Alpine has a MRX-M50 Mono Amplifier, at a size of (WxHxD) mm: 250mm x 58mm x 230mm, should fit as a replacement Amplifier, has both Speaker Level and Line Level (RCA) inputs. And if its the case of the incoming signal being Speaker Level, you wont need a Remote wire, the amplifier will power up from the speaker level-RCA or line level requires a remote line in.

Other alternatives to this is also the Rockford Fosgate PBR300X1, it only measures at 3.90cm x 10.8cm x 17.2cm (its not a typo), not to sure if its available in australia.

As for the actual woofer, if you want to keep the factory look, try Alpines SWR 823D or SWR- 843D Subs, they are a Open Baffle design, but are better suited for a sealed inclosure. There might be other suitable choices, but try to get a Open/Infinite Baffle design- majority of subs are designed or works best in a box design, and your boot is not a proper box.

Just double check if these will fit in your project, these are some examples I only seen on the internet.

Good Luck

Hi guys again, I'm not to sure that this question has been answered, I checked through here and other ford forums, but here it goes

-there are your normal speaker cables for your front and rears from main unit at speaker level, what is the subwoofer, is it speaker level to the subwoofer amp or line level

- I believed I seen somewhere that if you remove the sub amp out, the icc sees this then runs the other speakers at full range? Is there a way tricking the system so it can send a dedicated sub output to your own sub amp (when you replace factory amp with your own-also I know standard cabling not suitable, upgrading power and speaker cable is recommended )

-I know that there are mods to the icc to have a pre-out stage for main speakers, is there one to include a sub output as well to run your own dedicated sub amp

Again not to sure that this has been answered before, and maybe someone had the same questions, and apologies that you have to re answer topic again, thank you
