Reverse from garage, resume normal morning routine!Being serious though, I might actually get this looked at now I know there's a fix. Seems that this is more common than we first realised! I've found a fix for this, works everytime....start car, manually open garage door, get in car, shudder is already over. Reverse from garage, resume normal morning routine!See there was my problem. No manual garage door to distract me

It is a common problem with Turbos but not all Turbos. My sons G6ET does not do it. I've even got CRC involved in the last few weeks and they actually confirmed to me that it is a common problem and will not be fixed. I've complained again to the dealer and I've asked the dealer Principle to call me just before Xmas - nothing yet. I have taken this to the highest levels in Ford and they certainly know about it. I would be very interested in what you find out.I am not letting this go as sometimes it is dangerous, and, it never did it when it was new. I've had happening since 15,000 K's and it's now done 45,000 K's so I know the problem well. I'm glad to see I've found someone who has this "common" problem. A couple of things I've found out which may help.1. It happens more in warmer months. It went away during Winter and I thought it had gone away. As soon as the weather started warming up it came back.2. I also have a suspicion that it happens more oftenon 95RON fuel, but I'm trying to proove that now.3. Let it idle in P or N for 10 secs and it's normally fine after that.Have the exact same issue - did the 3k piece of mind service - dealer advises it is a common fault - with no fix as yet - I'll escalate it too. Happens on 98 as well with mine... Edited 11/01/12 05:46 AM by 2ter

I ended up changing the idle settings a little. There is a place in the idle section where revs can be altered for a certain amount of time on cold start-up. eg: add 50 rpm for 10 seconds if below 50 degrees. If it's put in gear during that time it will add the 50 revs to the "in gear idle speed" and it may be trying to meet other parameters at the same time. I suppose you really want to know why it didn't do it before but does it now Edited 11/01/12 07:59 AM by riptide

I still brace myself waiting for it, but so far so good.I'm still surprised at what a common problem it seems to be.TerriP.S. Any updates Pete?
