A couple of nights ago I was playing around a little in 2nd (BTR) doing half-throttle runs from around 60-100. After about the fifth run I backed off and the car went into limp mode then shut itself down. I waited a few seconds and it started straight back up again. I did not a notice particularly high coolant temp but it did get to about 92c on a mild night which is not normal.

It all sounds and goes fine except I now notice coolant temp rises very quickly by about 6-8c (and drops back down again just as quickly) when I get on a little boost. I had these fault codes logged from my 'Torque' Android app right after the incident:

P0196: Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Range/Performance

P0236: Turbo/Super Charger Boost Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance

P1131: HO2S Circuit Low Variance Bank 1 Sensor 2

P1132: O2 Sensor Heater Control Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

P2105: Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Engine Shutdown

P2110: Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Limited RPM

A few weeks ago, I began to notice that coolant temps where a little higher than usual. So about a week ago I did a flush and put fresh anti boil in.

Could this be a dodgy thermostat?

Cheers,

Steph.

As far as why it went into limp mode you mean? Still, I'm sure there's something else going on with cooling system. I'm changing out the thermostat and probaly do an oil change while I'm at it and see what the temps do.

Why would you thnk it's got to do with engine coolant when none of the fault codes back that up??

I have seen 100° coolant temp on a couple of occasions on a mild day... I don't think that is the issue here....

Had some of those codes.. Listen to MR4.0. I reckon he's bang on the money.. Except it's the throttle body sensor.. Throttle Pedal Sensor throws a slightly different code.. But because of the Sensor Range/Performance issues and Low Variance I'd be checking battery/alternator as a first point of call.. Make sure the electrics are working fine and go from there..
