Good responses guys, will have a chat on the side with my dealer's service centre and see what they think, might be able to get them to let some stuff through ;) beyond that of course there is always getting the warranty service like bloan said. Will do my research would like the car to be under warranty for a little while before I lose control and turn it into a Rex eating beast.

Regards

I think you will find that no one will warranty the chip upgrade and depending on which dealer you talk to the muffler removal is no sure thing either.

The general concensus among dealers I think (Correct me if I'm wrong guys) is that modifications from the cat back are ok.

.......

If I get bounced for warranty then there is no one else to blame but me and I will cop it on the chin.

If you are at all worried about warranty then my advise is just enjoy it stock, they are a great car anyway.

Was informed at my 15,000km service that my removed centre muffler has voided warranty & that they are suppose to inform FMC (they didn't/haven't).

It is my understanding that as far as FMC is concerned, any modifications will void warranty for certain aspects of your vehicle.

Modifications to intake, exhaust, engine management, etc will void engine & drive train warranty.

Lowering the car will void suspension component warranties.

And so on, and on, and on....

For example, I have a boost gauge installed in-dash (approx where the GT has it's glowing Start Button).

The premium sound colour TFT screen has developed a single vertical line that is not changing with displayed information (I.e. it's not working).

The screen requires replacement under warranty.....the Ford dealer service manager queried me as to how the boost gauge was fitted. I told him. He asked if it required the front/centre dash surround & perhaps the TFT screen to be removed to gain access to install the boost gauge?

I said "No".

He said "Lucky, if it did it would have voided all warranty on the screen, stereo, CD changer, ventilation controls, etc".

All mods will cause something in your warranty to be voided.

Also, be careful just what & how much you tell your Ford service people...it may cost you dearly!!!

As has been previously mentioned, your relationship with dealer/service manager is crucial.

End of the day if called upon, the onus is on YOU to prove mods didn't cause warranty issue, should one arrise.

Seems to be some varying levels of warranty compliance around the traps.

Whilst picking my BMC filter up from local exhaust joint , I got into a lengthy conversation with the chaps down there.

They are being currently innundated by the local dealer for pre delivery additions ie. SS cold air induction , filters and exhaust mods.

Interesting.........do they advise customers of voided warranties on these bits before they even take the keys. Apparently not.

Stock standard you should be able to eat rex, certainly tame enough Lion's to arrive home with a contended feeling. But there is also a feeling of security knowing that your 50k anti mid life crisis tool is covered by warranty.

Or am I just getting old and boring?

Why do guys continually ask questions and use the words "modify" and "warranty" in the same sentence?? <_<

Harden up boys and use the common sense gene that males have..... What do you think Ford will say about your busted gearbox when you have an exhaust and interceptor chip pumping out 260 rear wheel kw's???? Probably won't replace that one.

Or, same grunt, but you have a busted heater core? I think they will replace that one.

If you are going to modify, don't whinge if something breaks - accept it, because it probably will!

My question was not aimed at whinging about voiding warranty more along the lines of what can we do to upgrade that is still ok, I believe that a new Air filter and airflow changes from the Cat back are all warrantable changes, was seeing if there be others that people have implemented that have worked under warranty.
