Window Tinting

I want to bring my XR6 in to have the darkest tint done on all windows. However, I have read that in Western Australia they don't tint windscreens, for it's illegal?! Is this true? Or is it that they can't give the darkest tint to windscreen, but can to all other windows.Whatever the case, wouldn't the car would look stupid if all windows were darkly tinted yet the windscreen remained the same or less tinted?

Thanks guys!

Edit: For privacy reasons I want my windows tinted so dark that people can't recognise the driver at the wheel during the day. Is such a dark tint legal in WA?

Not sure on WA laws but I highly doubt it would be legal.

Gotta remember, if people can't see in, makes it hard to see out.

Dark tint at night is very dangerous, to the point you need windows down anyway. Might see in a bit depending how bright your dash lights are.

Also once its not legal, you get no warranty. Tint is an easy one for cops to pick on too.

I've got 15% all around, can see an outline of people but that's all.

If I wind windows down a bit it changes due to light inside the car.

And windscreens arent tinted. Try driving a car with tinted side windows at night then imagine that's your front. Scary sh*t.

Won't look stupid as every other car is like it, you won't see many with tinted windscreens. Some places might do it off the books.

Too dark looks stupid in my opinion. What color is your car?

I don't think any state will let you tint a windscreen.. Also I am starting to notice quite alot of cars getting around with the Front windows not tinted as dark as the rest of the car.. Not sure if this is a legal thing.. But it's pretty sensible to me..

Hmmmm, okay. My car is the Ego XR6. Other than tinting, is there anything that can be done legally to the front windscreen to reduce the visibility from the outside (I.e. so people on the outside have trouble seeing the person(s) inside the car)?

I have seen many cars driving around that look as though they have their front windscreens heavily tinted, but perhaps it's just an illusion of some sort?

Thanks for your help, guys.

My brother had 5% all round. Driving at nights ok, trying to get out driveways etc requires all windows down though.

I had 5% in my previous car, the darkness makes it hard to see who's inside from the front as the light doesn't get in from anywhere.

As previously mentioned though it was stupid and I chose not to do it again. It looked great but was scary at night as there were many occasions where I had almost crashed, several times I bashed my rims on things, Could not see any reverse lights unless I had the windows down.

If you don't want anyone to see you either wear a mask or buy a white camry and no one will look.
