I'm just pissed, see how I feel when it's going again.

Got the head off, not too bad, but what a bitch to get off.

Anyway all inlets are bent, slight dents on the pistons, but no bent rods.

Massive carbon build up, which is a good sign of running way too rich. (carbon is very loose comes off easy, so it's recent)

Tensioner is in perfect nick.

Valves are cheap $360 for a full set of in and out.

Ford said they can flash it back to factory specs. (Not the first time they've seen this apparently) big injectors on a rich tune, and higher boost, is typical reason they said.

Anyone want to sell a full set of stock injectors for a BA11 F6 ? or swap for a flow matched set of 60lb seimens ?

Who tuned it mate? Sounds like a bit of a hack job running it way too rich to be safe as they didn't know what they were doing.

I have a set - tested and cleaned, I've just got to find them.

Why don't you swap your injectors for a set of 42lb Bosch's in-case you decide on a bit more power later?... you never know. They will even run without a tune (temporary) and most tuners can tune them easy.

It still baffles me how anyone tries to tune these cars on standard injectors, hit up any forum and the that's the first thing they tell you. I thought it was common knowledge by now but obviously not.

I won't name them, until I'm 100% sure that's the issue.

When they tuned it, they did say they needed more fuel, not less and 288 was the most I could get from the stock fule pump.

It is possible something else was wrong like the fuel reg, after the tune, so to be fair, until I know for sure, the blame is on me for pushing limits on a car with 150,000 clicks on it.

Just pulled out the valves, all the seats are perfect, thank F##k.

so it's an easy head rebuild.

not wrong about soft springs, they are the softest I've seen including little 4 cylinder motors.

As for keeping it, I like blowing V8's over 100 clicks, but for most of the time, a V8 is much nicer in traffic. So a stock boss 290 might be a nice change for an old fart, who couldn't be bothered.
