its prob showing 18L per 100 kays as the previous owner prob had a heavy right foot

reset everything as mentioned earlier and start again.

drive for a week or so then report back.

strange how the dealer said it may be tuned! arent they the ones who can tell straight away with their scan tool?

in the mean time dont let this thread turn into another I get this L per 100 k and that thread. we already got one.

My experience is the engine doesn't like short drives and stop start on the freeway it is great that is where the fuel economy is excellent put it on cruse control and relax

I get 430 to 480 off 62l best of got was 580 freeway driving but I was giving it abit.

I think the key factor is definition of "city" driving, are we talking outer suburban free flowing traffic or bumper-to-bumper inner city? Massive difference.

If there is a fault causing excess consumption (most common would be dodgy oxygen sensor) then it'll usually throw up a warning light. But if you are really concerned then get a dealer or mechanic to give it a once-over,,,but otherwise just enjoy it.

Thanks for all your input guys. Economy increased rapidly as I did some more highway driving. It seems to be around the same as you guys have suggested. I'm taking the phoon to autotech this week to have it inspected, and possible stage 1 package. Hopefully they can shed some light on this possible flash tune business.

Last week I drove it until the tank was almost empty, range was about 10kms. Then I filled it with 98, reset all the gauges. The fuel range went up to 410kms, which is the highest I've ever gotten. Im through about a quater tank and its done 150kms already, mixed driving. I have a feeling that the dealer filled her with E10 before I drove it off the lot. I had not emptied the tank until now, been filling it with about quater tank left. I think maybe the left over E10 was messing up the economy. that's my theory anyway.

Depends how low ya run it mate.. But I'd say if you were to run it down to about 50km's till empty or under 1/8 of a tank.. A couple fills and it'd be cleared out..

EDIT: Just did some maths.. If you run your tank down to 15 litres left each time after 2 fills there will be less then 0.5% Ethanol content in the fuel.
