I've read through as much info as I can on bringing cars into W.A and it seems that pit inspections can be avoided, which would help save money. But one requirement that is deemed necessary to skip the pits, is that the car has been registered in my name for a period of greater than 12 months. Therefore I would have to get it inspected. I would also be assuming that the car is stock standard.I"m having trouble finding out what sort of costs are involved and just how much of a hassle this inspection would be, so if people who have been through this process could provide there experiences, it would be a great help in my planning. Not sure if same as WA laws as you call it "pit inspection" (maybe that's more rigorous?) Either way if you buy a good/low K/looked after car and get a full RACV etc mechanical report in advance ($300 or so, but well worth it anyway so you dont buy a lemon) on the car you are going to buy, should be no worries and shouldnt cost much at all. Good luck. Edited 20/12/11 10:51 PM by CBXRT

Managed to find out the info I required today. Inspection for road worthy certificate is 90 bucks. Just that some of the stories I had come across were of thousands of dollars being required. Probably only cars that aren't road worthy to start with, and I wont be getting one of those. Cheers
