I asked, he doesn't build engines.

Yeah, you can get your own block tested before the build then either keep replacing it till you find a good one or run the gauntlet I guess. Do stronger rods put more stress on the engine or something?

You buy parts and get Ratter to take charge of build, 99% sure you are going to use him as your tuner and he can oversee everything. Being a mechanic he knows when engine builders are trying to pull his leg.

Rods don't put more stress on it, but with better rods comes the temptation to push things harder, just chucking things in without testing come mean disaster sometimes, but sometimes you will get away with it

Yeah that's what I thought, as I doubt most people with BF MK2 blocks would check so I thought I'd ask. It would be more of a smart thing to do why the engines apart yeah?

Doesn't matter anyway as the car sold. Don't think I would bother on another BA only reason was this one had a immaculate history and was well looked after.

Or sleeve it, depends how far you want to go with power and what reliability your after.
