lol, the equipment needed to do it correctly starts getting expensive, that why most shops will use the services of an engine builder. It's also easier for any possible issues if the shop has supplied the parts and assembly, not finger pointing or minimal can occur if things go wrong.

what are you doing dillz? your gonna let your 2010 g6et go so you can build up an 05 ba?!!!!!!!!!! it'll cost way more than you budget and give you grief with all the teething problems. fair enough if you were in an 05 now or your looking to come out of it with some cash. as previously said get the fg up to 330 and youve got a much better car imho.

I had a similar head ache when I blew my engine. Get a 2nd hand motor from wreckers, and build up, or as I ended up doing,

bought a new F6 engine from Ford. Plenty strong enough for my needs, and everything brand new.

You will still need a certain amount of gaskets regardless of which way you go.

I had my turbo rebuilt, new radiator, hoses, and belts etc.

Not a cheap exercise. :hang:

Nah mate my ZF lunched itself after 20k, nearly did it again at 25. I have no faith at all in them anymore. Realized the only way I'll be happy with a car is starting from scratch, that and the fact I've always wanted to build my own car. Now I think I finally have the knowledge to do so.

I'm not one of those bought a car now it's at 500rwkws kind of guys, the journey to get there is what I'm happy to pay for.
