An engine built not a built engine. 400 max. Either retrofit an FG F6 one into a b series or maybe on of those spool kits as they're roughly the same price.

What about throwing just rods in a new short motor with stock pistons? save's on machining bores for pistons to fit, they can handle mid 450rwks anyway. would not cost that much and have the benefit of a new short. The rods are the weak point not the pistons yeah?

Dont laugh but Rajab.

Who’s laughing at rajab mate Alan’s seems to have a very good rep he done my car all I done was injectors, battery relocation, cooler and exhaust made 309rwkw and my best time at the track at the moment is 11.7@121mph on street tyres I know it’s nothing special but it’s ok for what it is for now only issue I had was the car hit limp mode once and he fixed it straight away. A while back he built a EL and made I think 560rwkw running 9.15@150mph theres also a capri his about to tune that has a atomic 998GT-R sounds awesome maybe because of the massive cams lol and his also building a ba turbo ford motor for a r32 and I heard its capable of 700 to 800kw I heard the owner is gunning for 7’s should be hitting the track soon. I know he has good rep is in the vl's as he built alot of tuff vl’s but im pretty sure his slowly getting a rep for the fords. Im currently in the same position you Dillz got everything now just need a diff and engine My heart ATM is set for a atomic engine I have spoken to Brad from Atomic a few times his pretty good he told me shipping your engine there and back from Vic is about $250 each way but im getting a quote off Rajab soon and will compare prices with atomic and I also want to see how this 32 will go on the dyno as its much lighter than our cars should go awesome on the track. Hope this info helps you mate or better yet speak to your tuner and go from there also good post I was going to do the same post tomorrow but don’t have to now lol

I don't want to start a slanging match here, but your quoted 450 rwkw with stock pistons, IS BY NO MEANS A CERTAINTY

I fitted a brand new short BF engine to my 'T' and used strong rods, resulting in the ring lands between top and second ring, and second and oil scraper rings breaking on cyl 5, necessitating another engine rebuild. Car was running less than 300 rwkw at the time this happened, and tune was safe as houses, with no pinging, as tuned by Simon from XFT.

See pictures for what can happen with stock pistons.....

As you can see from the condition of the pistons, these were near new, with less than 5k's on them.

How much power are you considering. If your taking high 300's just get an FG bottom end from Ford. Will make the power you want safely and will be a sh*teload cheaper than building an engine.

I don't want to be pretentious, but I think what my mate Ralph Wiggum meant to suggest, was an FG F6 bottom end, which has Mahle pistons, and WILL make 300+ kw safely.

............Sorry Jet meant it in a good way, I rate Alan as well it's just that brought his name up before and alot of people said he should stick to VLs and go see someone who knows these cars. Just like Dandy engines, well known V8 engine builder but also screws these engines together at great prices, as long as work is top notch should not matter who does it...........And does Rajab still use VCM or shifted over to XCAL3?
