yes a universal button will work

yes the viper is a great bit og kit , but requires a PATS override module on the CAN bus to fool the BEM into thinking a key transponder is is range of the key.

Are these easy to get/install quadie?

Go for it Dan, even just for the wank factor.. but it would come in handy for you..

Would love to mate, will have to investigate further!

On top of the $399 you need a Viper alarm system with remote start to utilise all the features, is how I read it.

Further to what 1600dave mentioned, the system must be able to be switched off or something, like when it goes in for service etc??

the viper has a digital out that connects to the CANbus interface, that sets the PID active high when the car is about to remote start.

when the key is inserted , the canbus goes to sleep till the next wake event from the viper.

im not 100% on the viper , but surly there is and valet/override switch in the system if it faults

the hardest thing would be to find the PID that's the PATS value (need an insider at ford to help) (may already be known)

You don't need an alarm but can add one

I'm looking into this now :)

I've asked why it wont work on the FG. Don't need the alarm to make them work. It's the first question in the FAQ on the homepage.
