Davidxr6t03 Member 58 Member For: 14y 5m 5d Posted 19/12/11 04:13 AM Author Share Posted 19/12/11 04:13 AM I could not get an Auto Electrian this close to Christmas but have booked the car back into Ford tomorrow, Third times a charm as they say.Anyway, I popped the bonnet today and started the car up, Just touched the oxygen sensor wires and the car shut down instantly. The lead was touching the wires that came from the plug at the back of the motor also so im not 100% sure which one has a short but it's a good start.Zip tided the oxygen sensor and wires and went for a 40 minute drive and no shut down, miss fire and when I returned home NO error codes for the first time in 3 weeks. So fingers crossed that Ford can now finally fix it!Dave. Davidxr6t03 Member 58 Member For: 14y 5m 5d Posted 23/12/11 12:09 PM Author Share Posted 23/12/11 12:09 PM Ford have given up and said they cannot fix it and your car is right to pick up. Its going to an auto elec Wednesday so my fingers are crossed. Had nothing to do with the oxygen sensor more a coincident that it stalled when I touched the wires. Hoping its sorted next week as I can't live without two cars and sick of the wife nagging!

Davidxr6t03 Member 58 Member For: 14y 5m 5d Posted 02/01/12 05:52 AM Author Share Posted 02/01/12 05:52 AM Thought I would post the fix to my issue with my Car Stalling. It only happened when the car was hot and It was the wiring harness that is behind the Fuse Holder under the steering wheel causing the car to shut down. Was fixed by me and I found the problem when my car was left in the sun all day it wouldn't start at all which was a first, pushed on the fuse holder and it started, could get the fault just by touching the bonnet release tab.I'm not 100% sure on which plug was the issue and there was a couple of wires I taped up from the previous owner having a blue tooth installed in the car and looked to be a bit lazy when he removed it.It has now been 4 days and over 35ç wheather with no issuesBit of a shame Ford or an Auto electriacian couldn't fix it but happy day's now, back to enjoying my newly tuned rocket!
