Well, my plan was to get to work an hour and half early, then that would allow me enough time to go at lunch, get back, shower etc. Who knows, maybe once I get into it a bit more I'll prefer first thing in the morning...but we'll see.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

And yeah Keefy, I've tried the gym near my house previously but it's more out of the way - this gym is much more convenient.

Dude did you even read my post???

For the first couple of weeks to a month I wouldn't get too worried about a program

that was all I had to read ;). 100% a steady program for the first 2 months is 100% required was my point, ensuring the same workouts are done weekly

nice, ensure you repeat that workout every time you do chest/triceps for the next 4 - 6 weeks at least. Increase weight as you can but work on form rather than lifting heavy/adding weight as the gains will be far more substantial

Yeah, when I was going to the gym previously I lifted heavier and less reps, but wanted to dial it back a little and let my body get used to it before winding back up.

There are much better ways to start lifting and make progress than what you've suggested or what .Stripes. just did.

Look at my progress in this thread. I went from novice to late intermediate in the space of ten months. Clearly I must know a thing or two about weight lifting and eating, as most people never reach those numbers, let alone in less than a year. What would I know though hey?!

Anyway, something is better than nothing and consistency is key for any kind of gainzzz.

Don't get disheartened at this comment .Stripes., it's not an attack but rather a necessary truth, just keep it up and you will get somewhere better.

good job, Dan! :) after moving house, I didn't really need to go the gym in the last few days, so I'm happy to be going this arvo.
