having hair like that is dangerous....

I dont want a flat tummy- well I do but its not realistic. just wanted to lose some weight, gain better defined arms and chest and have some fun and quality time with my lad.

just dont want to exert energy just to find im not being efficient with my work outs...

How do you know it's not realistic? Why not push yourself and see what you can achieve.

That's what I did. Told myself for the next 12 months I'm going to work hard for all the sh*t I put my body through over the last 10 years. If I knew I would have achieved so much I would have done it much sooner.

Never too old mate. Some of the best pro bodybuilder are in their 40s. It's really not only a young mans game. It's gets harder no doubt but that adds to the fun :-p

Are you part of a gym or just do this stuff at home?

nah just at home- I thought that if I went to a gym I wouldnt go....

so patrick bought a bench off gumtree, I had a barbell, dumbell and some weights from years ago, and a mate gave me various weights when he moved. ive got a variety of 1.5's, 2.5's and 5's.

also have a good health stream evo treadmill that I (sometimes) do 3km at 6kmh (after workout), flat first and then incline up to 15*.

I cant run or jog for too long, so fast walk. should do it more often though...

thanks for the encouragement though guys..

What's your opinion on this. I was 127kg. Started simply running short 500m every second day. Started light n easy (meals). Gradually worked my way up to 3km runs a day and also did Dumbel sets (5/30@10x2kg), sit-up sets (5/80), push-ups (5/15) . Within 12 months had massive results and got down to 92kg. I stepped up my game again. I was still eating very well, I was running 6km plus every day for 3months and was still 92kg. I have always been a stocky build and am about 180cm but I was not getting any results except for cardio fitness (I still hadn't lost the guts). I am a qualified yr 12 PE teacher and it's got me screwed! I got way over frustrated and have not been working anywhere near as hard. As a result I am sitting on 105kg. It makes it hard to get back on the fitness regime when I know I have to work ridiculously hard to maintain. Am I just being soft or you recon I just got sh*te genetics? My theory is that I put on muscle mass quickly and easily. Some people would love this but as I get older I'm pretty sure I'd rather not. The stupid thing with running and the other exercises (except dumbells) they are supposed to tone and help with weight loss.

Im sure most of the gurus on here will tell you the same thing but it you plateau or see a decline in your results its almost always 100% down to nutrition. You might think youre eating clean or taking in enough calories to put on size but youre probably not.

Genetics account for a lot of things but they will never stop you putting on muscle or getting very lean. Being big, hard and shredded has very little to do with genetics it come down to hard work and sacrifice. Sure there are people that gain or lose a little easier than the next person but I could give you 100 example of either very fat or super skinny people that have turned into shredded monsters. But it took them years dedication.

So in short yes youre being soft haha :P

You are probably right. I got myself into a routine that saw results for 18 months that I didn't want to change it even when it wasn't working. I probably should fix up my treadly and do that also. I also shouldn't have given up (soft). One positive, I'm not going back to effin 127 ever again!
