If someone asks you if your benching 2 plates or 3 plates, they are talking 100kg and 140kg respectively, not 80kg and 120kg. (1 plate meaning 20kg/45lb and also meaning how many plates a side) Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/78160-weight-training-for-beginners/page/239/#findComment-1310244 Share on other sites

Taller then me but a rake,, and reckons hes already doing 50kg shoulder presses.. Sounds stupid to assume that someone would think a machine is directly comparable to free weights but I've heard it happen before. MA91CK billet turbos and weathered engines dont mix Donating Members 1,346 Member For: 13y 26d Gender: Male Location: Wollongong Posted 17/10/12 12:56 AM Share Posted 17/10/12 12:56 AM Yeh for sure.. Pulleys is cheating I rekon. Free weights make you so much stronger for everyday activities than pulleys do. Theres a big difference between gym strong and everyday strong.. 2 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/78160-weight-training-for-beginners/page/239/#findComment-1310440 Share on other sites

Haha. Pulleys are useful... Sometimes. But comparing them to free weights if he actually was is pretty funny. I do 120kg lat pulldowns, but stuff having 60kg strapped to me to-do Pupullups! I'd be lucky to do 6 with 15kg Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/78160-weight-training-for-beginners/page/239/#findComment-1310466 Share on other sites

Hes maco do talks alot of sh*t..Your not wrong with the more pullys less resistance thing. I was doing tri's the other day and normally do 17.5 pull downs.. Machine was taken so used a different one with f*ckload of pullys.. Was doing 32.5kg on it Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/78160-weight-training-for-beginners/page/239/#findComment-1310468 Share on other sites
