Just cook dinner and when you do that throw a kg of chicken on the barbeque. I will eat chicken with garlic soy sauce herbs and a bit if water day in day out. 1 kg will last 2 3 days easy
Wingnut Member 573 Member For: 16y 3m 17d Gender: Male Posted 22/11/12 09:35 PM Share Posted 22/11/12 09:35 PM It comes down to how much you want it.. There is ALWAYS time for the gym or to prepare your meals. But what are you willing to sacrifice for it? Most days I'm up at 6, work until 5, straight to the gym home by 7, cook my dinner and meals for the following day and ready to chill by 830. In bed by 10 and do it all again. I'm fortunate that I'm single, don't have kids and can pretty much do what I want with my time so apart from staying off the booze mid week I don't sacrifice a lot. If I wasn't going to the gym I would come straight home and watch TV or play Xbox. That doesn't help me at all lol

Goliath Member 383 Member For: 14y 4m 6d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 22/11/12 10:54 PM Share Posted 22/11/12 10:54 PM Training legs 3 times a week now! They've had enough rest since the knee reco! haha. Unfortunately still can't squat due to residual tendinitis from using the patella tendon as the graft (used the hammy the first time, same leg). Just doing increased sets and reps and weight is starting to increase, but still a fair bit away from where I was before the injury. This is my current splitMon - Legs/CoreTues - Chest/Tri'sWeds - Back/Bi'sThurs - Legs/CoreFri - Shoulders/ArmsSat - Legs/CoreSun - Back/Bi'sHave had no issues with recovery as the split has allowed plenty of time for that. Also I interchange between heavy and light sessions when hitting another body part again.

That seems to be a lot of training for a single muscle group unless you're splitting hams and quads. I need a full weeks rest after leg day. They remain sore for at least 5-6 days... I'm taking stuff for recovery but maybe I'm going to heavy? Not sure..
Goliath Member 383 Member For: 14y 4m 6d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 23/11/12 12:39 AM Share Posted 23/11/12 12:39 AM You should check out Smolov Squat training if you think I'm over doing it!! haha. As I said, I'm not pushing as heavy as before due to the tendinitis, and I only really suffered doms when squatting heavy, not with the complementary lifts.Generally my legs are good to go after 2 days. First day is usually fine, then the pain sets in on day 2, day 3 still some soreness, but after a set or two this goes away. Also, one thing I learnt, don't gauge your workout by how sore your muscles are! I use to convince myself I hadn't worked hard enough if I wasn't sore, this is not the case!

My wife works in the evenings after I get home so we don't have to put them into day care therefore we're raising our own children (what a novel idea). However this doesn't allow me to train after work so I go on my hour lunch break. I manage to squeeze in my main lift and 4 sets of assistance, get changed and get back to work, cram some lunch in and finish my day. People at work think I'm crazy for lifting at lunch. I just smile and nod as I watch them get fatter and weaker. I've lost 20kg and the percentages on ALL my lifts are higher than they've ever been.If you want it, you'll find a way.
