Hey fellas

Need some conparison on 1rep maxs. These are without a belt too.

I hover around 79kg , 6ft & 1/2

Deadlift 160kg

Back squat 105kg

Overhead press 65kg

Bench press100kg

What you reckon. They feel great for my weight but just want some comparison as to what is on par or lacking or excelling etc

I rekon thaats pretty good man! I haven't done 1RM very much,

but for my strength traning (3-4 reps) I did:

Deadlift 140kg

Back squat 120kg

Overhead press 45kg

Bench press 85kg

Bent over Row 45kg

240kg Leg Press ( yes I have little legs)

oh yeh, I'm 63kg. can't break 70 its coin my head in!

Are you training for a powerlifting comp?

Mack, you need to eat more to put on weight/size and up the reps.

Nah stiflr.

Just curious were I sit in the ballpark. I'm one of the only ones in my gym who does proper lifts so I have nobody to compare to. I love all the olympic lifts!

I seem to see everyone else do wank factor sh*t and stare in the mirror.

haha easier said than done. I don't do it for any comps, I just think is good to include some power lifting nd strength training into your workouts. Of course I wan a get bigger, and look better, people are lying if they say otherwise. But I do a fair bit of sport and like to surprise people too haha. I always get 'are you sure your right with that mate?' or 'just move fora sec ill lift it' then when they can't I embarrass them ;)

To be honest I don't think eating is the answer. Unless I devoted my whole life to it and quit my job to body build full time I can't put on anymore weight. Or eat anymore for that matter. For 6 months I took 5 meals to work plus breafast and lunch at home. was super conscious about what I ate and trying to max my protein and carbs. I put on one kg. Got sick and lost 4 in 2 days.

that's another reason. I see most guys go in and do heavy lifts but dodgy as all f**k and then stand around for 5 minutes looking at themselves. If you go heavy you need to have perfect form. simple. When doing normal reps, good form is key but 1 or 2 cheat reps where you might swing a little doesn't hurt.

Fair enough Dave. I can't comment as I'm not in your weight range and don't do max lifts.

I don't normally do max lifts but I had a spotter last week for the first time in months so I took advantage of it :)

My normal routine consists of 5x5 followed by 3x8-10 or to failure.

If you play sport aswell, you have to eat more again if you want to put on size. It's also not just about protein and carbs, you have to have a high calorie intake. Do you have a weight goal you want to get to?
