Fitted an exhaust to a forum members car, 5"dump, de-cat pipe then down into single 4" with no center muffler and a big rear resonator led to boost pressure spiking up to 19psi, not good for an engine at all. Even if the wastegate duty cycle was set to hold the wastegate wide open, it still overboosted. Be careful not to damage your engine, detonation is an absolute killer.

Not same emissions, they probably couldn't care less and just say that to help sell their product.

Yeah this could be true, does say it has 100cpsi which from researching should be enough to not cause it to fail the rear o2 sensor. But we wont really know until we try, meh it was only 165 with free delivery. If all else fails im going to look into one of those sureflow Exhausts.

if you run E85 then these one's I've found work the best:-

My Territory is a daily driver, I have a track car which I have done this on. Territory stays yellow free.

I have a spare bleed valve in my garage I can chuck on the gate vac line to offset the overboost if I have any that large. I'm going to be installing a temp boost guage after I install the dump and cat to keep an eye on it and if its quite large I will adjust with the bleed valve to make it close to stock to run it safe.

I plan to install front mount, injectors (if needed) and then get it tuned all at once.

Ballistic cat, surefloexhaust.com.au....

Thanks mate, they look like good cats. If I have issues with mine I will be deffinatly getting one of these. You got one at the moment? any issues with the rear o2 sensor giving engine light errors?

mate it doesn't matter if they say Euro 3 or not, any decent 100cpsi cat will trigger the check engine light.

I wouldn't go for a cheap cat as I've heard of and seen the cores shift or dislodge and block up the exhaust.

Ballistic cores are spot welded in place, not cheap but still miles better than the exhaust shop quoted you

Bleed valve wont help. You wastegate wont flow enough without a port job, you could run your boost pressure source directly from the turbo too the gate and it will still over boost

I dont use a cat either just a 3.5in piece of stainless pipe with the flanges to fit the 3.5in xforce system onmy BA. Cost me about $100 to get made up and only takes 10mins to swap them around if need be but I never have refitted the cat back on the car. The exhaust note is definately louder though and then with a straight through generic offset rear muffler I had put on instead of the restrictive twin tip back a few years ago it is a car alarms worst enemy.

I think there new sytems have bigger centre and rear mufflers even though they are straight through are alot quieter unless its the FG that a mate has it on that makes it quieter but I doubt it!

Go no cat and a tune for more boost captain...
