I had a few WRX's up there (in Port Hedland) and the stock ones would feel sluggish on hot days. The biggest thing about getting a tune, was the fact that they really didn't 'feel' laggy on hot days. I would expect a tuned car to never feel laggy unless it was deliberately tuned that way, regardless of the fuel. Should have bought a V8 like everyone else up there!

My bro's VE SS-V ute was one of the highest performing cars to come out of APC with the mods it had at the time (OTR, Full exhaust, tune), and he had it tuned on 95. From my limited experience 95 isn't as bad as everyone makes out.

I had a 95ron tune in my xr6t it made 302rwkw in central qld (hot as f*ck), took it back when 98 became available in my town and a retune saw 320ish...so their is a little difference between the two.

Took the words right out of my mouth! Edited by Gonadman2

I thought that the 95 doesnt hurt the N/A engines as bad as boosted engines?

The more I drive it the more im liking it the way it is now, first impression was not as exhilarating as I anticipated. Im loving "spirited driving" around the LIA. Im certainly alot more impressed with it now, I found that big fat mid range power with 1/2-3/4 throttle, boost does come one quite easily above 3000rpm. As I said before the main thing that dissapionted was 3rd gear acceleration from 120, power comes on steady, boost builds steady & "feels" slow, but this is perfect for 1st & 2nd gears I have since learned :asciidity:

Simon said stock BF F6 should run 200-220kws on his dyno, with my parts 280-290 then minus 20-25 from using 95 fuel, so he was spot on. I dont think he got a before dyno print out as it got tilt trayed there due to a rock cracking my trans pan and they did all the work at once. I didnt get an after as it went missing or misplaced, I wasnt to fussed at the time. When I called to chase it up his dyno had just been removed to replace so it'll be jan or feb before I get it.

Hey there just had mods done to our fg f6310 only to have the car returned to us after 10 days at a shop down on the expected power that should of been achieved. Our mods consisted of stage 2 intercooler,4inch turbo back exhaust, injectors, airbox, ported turbo&actuator upgrade, sct tune&zf tune which was only to take 4days yeah rite, with no baseline dyno run go off the mods went ahead, after 3rd day we rang tuner who informed us everything was on track and the car was cing the dyno the following morning, when asked what expected power levels should be achieved with mods was told around the 330-340 rwkw any more would be a bonus they also added, come the following day no phone call to pick car up :ermm: thought to myself oh well and phoned them the next day to be told car was`nt holding boost when asked why was told exhaust housing was crack this got me thinking no way couldn`t be 4000km on clock and car running fine when dropped off suggested to tuner maybe leaks only to be told it had none and that they`d look after me with another housing assuring me it would fix everything, knowing how reputable they were I agreed and left it at that.2 more days pass hadn`t heard anything rang yet again only to be told after replacing exhaust housing the problem was still there and was told even there scratching there heads wrong thing to say, annoyed as was about to jump in car and go down there but only for my wife bein the calm one and getting on phone did I have a change of mind, being the weekend I knew nothing could be done till monday. After having the weekend to cool off I rang first thing monday and was hit with excuses and maybe`s none off which I really wanted to hear bein so ova there sh*t just said ring when cars sorted 4 more days later they finally ring saying all good ready to go,excited just to get car back got there ask whatthe problem ended up being was given run around yet again with no answer,at this stage didn`t care just wanted to get out off there, when asked what power it made was dissapointed 319rwkw only then to be told it was down because motor still bein new was tight and to bring it back after I`d put another 10,000kays on it.Drove home not impressed at all the car was lag central with boost coming on at 3200rpm and peaking at3900rpm only to fall away at 5000rpm,looked at dyno graphs confirmed what I`d already thought sh*t and to top it off 68 dyno runs to put this tune into the car.To cut a long story short ended up taking car to another shop were they found intercooler split ,throttle body hose split, loose pipework leak central and that was only after one day, leaks fixed first dyno run produced 352rwkw@3800rpm @27psi f*&k me with run cut short found 12psi actuator adjusted in a way that wastegate wasn`t controlling boost at all, with that fixed back on dyno for a healthy 358rwkw@16psi.Sorry for long post still pissed off about the dodgy work performed by such a well known and respected tuner for which I`m not finished wif yet. :f*ckyou: :threaten:
