K3THOU New Member 10 Member For: 19y 2m 27d Posted 12/12/11 01:32 AM Share Posted 12/12/11 01:32 AM Ive got two questions regarding turbo replacement. Firstly, how long does it take, and have any of you had it done by a workshop? And what was the cost?Second part of question is ive been offered a replacement but it has the wastegate modified and 12psi actuator. can I use this on a std set up, and will it work just like the stock one? Thanks Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/78128-turbo-replacement/ Share on other sites

Always wondered if you can use a ported wastegated turbo with stock actuator on a stock car? Can anyone answer? Probably cheaper to go to a workshop that's familiar with the xr6t as they'll probably do a better job and quicker. 1600dave Donating Members 872 Member For: 14y 4m 8d Posted 12/12/11 10:21 AM Share Posted 12/12/11 10:21 AM My problem is my top two studs have stuffed nuts, can't get a spanner on, and I have 2 16mm bolts on the bottom, can't get to the front one near the actuator bracket. Going to pull the whole manifold and replace all gaskets and bolts/studs, then won't need touching ever again, I hope.Replacement standard turbo is fine unless you want more power. Mine isn't stuffed, I just managed to get a modified/rebuilt one cheap, hence no rush to change it (except it keeps coming loose) Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/78128-turbo-replacement/#findComment-1168542 Share on other sites
