Glad you sorted the issue, Its actually quite common on the earlier b series models, and the fact that Binks couldnt fix it is appaling. Firstly becuase nearly all of these sorts of issues are caused by things such as this, and secondly...and more importantly, there was actually a Technical Service Bulletin covering this that ford brought out.

Thanks for the info. Electricals can be a PITHA. One simple thing can cause untold headaches. Sometimes I wish I was one of those guys who just CBF if anything doesnt work on a car and as long as it gets them from A to B they are happy. They would put up with crap reception and it wouldn't bother them.

Does any one know where that little bloody box is in the ute my radio is crap would love to know how to fix it

Follow the demister/antenna wires from the rear window, they should lead to the amplifier box.

Ok - didn't realise that they were different on the ute - in that case I'm not sure where the amplifier box would be, perhaps inside the roof trim?
