Hi all, my Typhoon has developed a bit of a noise in the drive line under light (and more recently heavy) acceleration, a continous shuddder and banging under the rear floor while under acceleration. I originally thought it to be the diff bush problem so I had all 3 diff bushes replaced with nolithane bushes, this reduced the noise but it was still there. It seems to get worse the warmer the car is. As in when you drive first drive the car it drives perfectly but as everything warms up it get slowly gets worse. its got me stupped as the everything under the car looks in good condition.

Car is modded running 450rwkw, with a ZF 6 speed auto with 39 000km on the clock.

Ummmm... A few things... Farked trans (450rwkw is way too much for stock ZF) or you universals could be Farked or even more likely... Your tailshaft could be slightly twisted and needs to be replaced... probably out of balance... Causing driveline shudder...

car has no shudder or viration at any speed when just cruising, smooth as glass. only when on the throttle. Would have thought if the tail shaft was twisted or damaged it would vibrate at highway speeds? The ZF has has also crossed my mind and is coming out after new year for a rebuild and strengthening. I have been under the car checking CV's, the CV on the rear of the tail shaft the centre bearing and the rubber coupling on the front of the tail shaft, next things I guess are gear box mount and engine mount?

????????

I have the same shudder, BF XRT ZF 100,000klms

Replaced:

Both Engine mounts.

Gearbox mount

All supperpro diff bushes (side aswell) were done about 30,000 klms ago with front and rear suspension done at Wholesale Suspensions

Tailshaft was removed after the shudder started and rear cv rebuilt, front rubber coupling replaced, centre bearing was fine and regreased.

Car is getting an on car tailshaft balance at Ford but I'm not holding my breath.

Next is rear cradle out or ZF rebuild (which needs to be done as 3rd to 4th flares a bit at the track)

Has anyone had this problem resolved?

On car tailshaft balance done and no fault found, noise sounds like it is coming from the rear.

Has anyone had a farked rear bearing?

What noise does it make and would this cause a vibration?

Twisted input shaft in the ZF ?????? One of the first things you need to strengthen if going above 500nm

Not sure, but I have not babied it and thought it would have broken by now if it was twisted.

Box will be built but don't want to do it yet if I dont have to.
