genuine head gaskets are the best, no problems re-using standard headbolts

7:10 "these head bolts can only be used once" they are torque to yeild which means they stretch when torqued up to spec, absolutely do not re-use stock headbolts

hey riptide, are u using aftermarket rods with the std ba/bf pistons ? and yeah +1 to stock h/g. (sorry 4 hike)

Yeah, all I could afford was the rods so everything else is going back in, including bearing shells, pistons and rings. All other gaskets are compliments of a tube of silicone. This is the real deal budget rebuild :)

that's awesome as the std pistons are stout as anyway. I hate forged piston slap. this is what I will do, do u have to press fit the gudgeon pins or are they circlips ?

Whilst I am going to contradict myself, yes I know what torque to yield bolts are and yes theoretically you should replace them.... however I have reused them many times without fail
