Have you got a photo of the fracture face. How long did you really think your box was going to last at that power. Didn't your tuner advise you of the possibilities of what may happen to your drive-train at that power.

We all know that at over 400rwkw that the driveline will give somwhere. I'm pretty sure Matt was aware of this also.

Actually we thought the box would last a lot longer than that and I beleive it would have, had it not done that evil kick down from 3rd to 2nd at the point that it did!

I know now not to wind on 3rd and mash the pedal so as I mentioned before I'll stick with the stock input and box till March and then build it.

Oh and I'll try and get a pic of the face for you tomorrow.

I have aquired a fair few snapped input shaft pics, strange the way that they twist and yet snap so clean. Looks like there might not be a proper radius where they all break.

Ok Matt let me show this unfortunate Video of breaking the "iNPUT SHAFT" I was in the car and Matt said to me "There's no traction now" I thought he meant that the tyres were shot but I guess he knew it didn't feel right until he smashed it on the straight.

Still sends shivers down my spine, because I have a ZF and dont want to hear that in mine.

That has always made me curious how it twists and twists but when it breaks it's a dead clean cut.

As we talked about today veva I'd be wanting to find out why she downshifted 3 - 2 whilst in manual mode.

I think it's the safety feature - try just mashing the pedal as hard as you can and the box thinks you are in trouble and drops back to 2nd.
