Guys had the box pulled out today after snapping an input shaft in on the 2nd session of the day at powerplay yesterday.

Basically as I came onto the straight from turn 12 I decided this time (previous laps I was in 2nd but when I nailed it, it just fried 2nd and 3rd and was sketchy going sideways down the main striaight at 150+ with cars nect to me) to just leave it in 3rd (was in man mode) and just wind it on and once I felt it comoing onto boost then mash it! Well all that did was as soon as the boost was building and I mashed the pedal it in a split second dropped back into 2nd and "BANG" and that was game over! the only good thing was that it happend at the top of the straight which allowed me to roll into pit lane and down to where the towies were.

This is where they found the snapped input shaft when the box came out, it was just lying under the converter!

Good info Veva and bad luck mate. So, how much of the box do they need to pull apart to replace it? No metal has gone through it so keen to know what's involved.

Yeah box needs to come a fair bit apart for them to fix it mate!

Was hunting around all day for a Cryogenic treated shaft but no one's got one, so will just put the stocker one back in for now and avoid 3rd gear wind on's!

Hey Matt, very sorry to hear. I was there in the morning when I saw the F6 come off the trailer and that's when I was informed me of what happened. Kind of worries me now as I've got a tuned ZF also. But probably better to break an input shaft then something else further back in the box. Will you be going billet or the heat treated shaft? Keep us posted mate and I'm sure it'll be back out very soon.

Sorry mate must of posted together. Shaft question answered
