hello mate I just put a FG F6 long motor in my BA the only thing you need to change is sump.

Yes they have Forged pistons from Mahle and the rods are the same as normal turbo, stronger than the old ones from early Ba's. little bit different in compression and the cams are a little different two. big $$$ I hope it was worth it.

if you are going to tune it a cheap investment is to change oil pump gears.

Just to clarify... the only mods that I need to do to make a FG F6 engine fit into a BFII is to use the sump off the BF engine (what about the dipstick???). Do I need to get the dippy hole at the front of the block drilled so the dipstick actually reads the oil in the sump???

I have heard of people doing this mod, our FG F6 short motor was delivered yesterday and PANIC STATIONS when we realised that the dipstick is in the wrong spot and that the sump is back to front...

Can anyone who has successfully done this mod shed some light on how you made it work....

:)

Yep need to relocate the dipstick. You may also need to grind down a bit of your engine mount.

LOL - remember I am a mere woman... Relocate the dipstick.... you mean get the second dipstick spot at the front of the engine milled / drilled out so I can use it and then just bung / welsh plug / tap and screw in a plug in the rear one that has already been drilled???

This way I can use my old sump...

I dont think Paulie wanted pics of the engine :sungum:

I dont think you can buy a BA/BF short/long from Ford anymore. All most likely are FG. My long was ordered as a BA/BF F6 long, came as an FG with sump and dipstick in the correct position. RH engine mount had to be slightly modded. I didnt do the job myself, so dont have exact details.
