Did you buy it off them. Or for $100 less down the road lol

My Mr Ford man totally sucked after I bought my car.

I jumped up and down. Threw a mirror scalpel that had fallen off at his head and sent numerous letters to fraud.

Now they are as nice as pie to me.

Too bloody late lol. Not buying another one.

You should just put the stock airbox back on and drive it back and say you took in to another mechanic and they said the airbox was stock so you dont know what their talking about lol.

I would make them do it because they probably get discounted labour for doing warranty work lol so in away its annoying for them.

The warranty is with Ford, not the dealer (they aren't "Ford"). They are only agents - its Ford's decision whether to fix it so go to whatever dealer you want.

Its not a matter of "asking", its "demanding" they fix it - especially if its an obvious problem. Be firm and don't hesitate to threaten legally etc. Good luck.

From what I have been told is Ford Dealers have to fill out paper work for any warranty claims, part of the paper work is they have to report if the car has any modifications, if this is the case, your car will now be known to Ford that it has been modded with at least a different air box, another dealer may appear to be at first helpful but may then get a claim denied by Ford if they do know about it.

It would have been wise to take the car in initially with the stock air box, but it is too late for that now.

try another dealer but be upfront about what has previusly happened, other wise they may end up charging you for time spent on the car

Ratter is correct, your car is now on the database which ALL ford dealers are linked Australia wide. Maybe its time for that TUNE.

Don't agree. Just because its on the database doesn't link the CAI to the actual problem or void warranty - heaps of cars have sports exhausts, bigger rims etc put on and it doesn't matter at all to warranty claims that are unrelated.

Different if a poor tune is done and a cylinder blows through the block - of course that is not Ford's problem. I would think the OP has every reason to get his diff fixed it is a fault.

I too believe it should get fixed. Don't get me wrong. But......

If ford could prove the cai makes even just 5% more power they could argue that the car was now out of it's stock power limit and caused pre-mature diff wear and tear. They bring the car out at 270kw, not 285kw. Just an angle I would assume the would try.
