From limited reading it seems high ethanol is a bit hard on the valve and seats. Saw a pic of one head (used in a marine engine with E15) where the valves were all cracked.

Maybe ethanol fuels need more upper cylinder lubricant mixed in from the refinery.

Has anyone stripped a high km, high ethanol engine of late.

Heard of injectors stuffing up when left sit. If my ute was not to be driven for quite a few months, would it be better to drain the cell and try to run 98 in it for a bit?

It will run rich as, foul the plugs, but might be better for the injectors?

Or is there something better.

I was reading about ethanol fuels and small perol engines like whipper snippers, lawnmowers, outboard mtrs etc.

Most of these small engines are not ethanol compliant and if left to sit with ethanol fuel will just glug up from dissolved rubber. In USA they only have ethanol fuels now so its a big problem. Just don't use on these small engines.

Newer cars are more ethanol compliant but I still think they are a bit hard on everything they touch, so if you don't drive it often you may be better with non ethanol fuel.

Not many good reviews for the 1000. Fit a second 044 or flog it off for the new PW one.
