Then surely there has gotta be some evidence to suggest there is something going on..All Ratter has done is shown people the other side of the argument.. Which in my mind is great that he's doing it.. He could be tuning every second car on it and boasting massive power figures with his tuning ability.. Instead he's showing you both sides of the coin because at this stage no one knows whether it's heads or tails..Take the piss all you like.. Just don't come in here bitching that in a year you filled up on a tank of E85 from a servo which pumped 60% water into your fuel tank..

And lets be honest there's always going to be ney sayers and left and right.I spent almost a year perusing forums (mainly US and EUR) re ethanol and of course our local ones doing my due diligence. Anyone that knows me knows I always do my homework. The way I see it is like this.If your happy to push the car to comfortable levels and have no real intention of racing it 98 is more than fine. However if you want to lean on stock motors and or chase big hp ethanol is pretty much were you'll need to be.Like most things if your not sure about it grab a piece of paper draw a line down the middle when write down the pro's and con's and see which side is more populated and reasonable. The whole pouring water into your tank was a slight over exaggeration and more a gee up.From all the reading that I have done on ethanol there has never been an article or publication that said phase separation was the cause of an engine failure. This process will take a hell of lot more time to occur than we would ever need to worry about. Some would remember my 98 contaimiation I had early last year through shell the whole dredded brown sludge. And yeah in took shell on and won they paid out my $3000 dollar claim. So even super safe 98 can bring you undone.Nothing's ever a sure thing but when there is a product like E70, E85, & E98 avail and priced 40% cheaper than 98 offering all cons it dose than its a no brainer for me.Mick Iona massive advocate for your posts and your contributions to this site and I'd never want you to toe some what of a bureaucratic line.I've just always noticed you have been quite anti ethanol. I think in the end it boils down to two categories for mine when using Ethanol:-*use it occasionally and get your bang for buck on limited set up.*use prodomanently but have the car set up 100% to run it.We all just need to make well informed decisions when it comes to anything that we are not experts on.But again Mick I think your contributions are great and far more frequent then % 90 of other tuners around then land.My 2 cents. .."."
