But how long would it take to absorb 2L of water from the atmosphere?

it is temperature dependent and how well it is sealed, unless it comes from a sealed can from production it is always open to the atmoshpere in most cases through breathers etc

There’s precious little you can do to prevent buying fuel that’s already contaminated with water. It’s not uncommon for underground storage tanks to have several inches of water on the bottom, which is why the standpipe inside them is usually raised 5-6 inches.

Lol yeah you can mate. Drill the spot welds out and pull the sheet off covering the top of the tank mate. Piece of piss.

Have a read here.

Seeing as this is an E85 thread, I have a question regarding transporting it. I have a ute and I got told what I was doing was illegal by the ever so bright attendant in Frankston that it was illegal to carry anything more than 20ltrs in a vehicle. Now I called bullsh*t and continued on filling my 4 20 litre containers. The attendant said he was going to ring the police as it was illegal until he saw my number plates and figured I was interstate.

Does anyone know the laws regarding transporting fuel in fuel containers that are marked clearly with the AUS/NZ standards stickers? I had a search about and could not find any legislation regarding the transporting of any fuel unless it was over 200L then it required a hazard kit blah blah blah. Is there anyone else in the know about this ? As I live about 35kms (an hour in sydney traffic) from my nearest E85 United servo, I get about 80-100L at a time to save travelling there and go fortnightly when I am using the fuel instead of every week, I just want to know the legalities incase I get pulled over with 100L of it in the tray and get slapped with a fine or two.

U see utes with mini tankers on the back sometimes so I really cant see it being an issue
