What situation ( other than empty return line ) would there be for 60psi (up top say ) but spot on afr's ?

Or would this just be the exact point where pressure is starting to fall over but still enough in the rail

You can adjust injector scaling to suit low fuel pressure. It's far from ideal though and a scary thought. Wouldn't be doing that on my car!

Speaking of fuel pressure I have decided to put the old girl on E85 this time around, I only have a standard pump in the factory swirl pot so upgrading that to a Walbro 400lph but I also have to modify the return well. Ive been told this can be done by drilling the return line pipe to larger dia. into the swirl pot or drill it out completely and tap it with a fitting which thne just empties the returned fule into the pot. Has anyone got any pictures? Im sure I can figure it out but If I can see one done its easier..

Fuel system consists of Magnafuel MP-4303, Walbro 400lph, Surgy, ID2000s, FPR2000, twin entry with -8AN line, -6AN return to surge tank.

Whats the minimum fuel pressure a id 1000c will work at @ say 70% duty cycle ?

How much fuel pressure % wise do u want on top of minimum fuel pressure @ top end duty cycle

2% ? 10% ? Whats the happy place for those who tune ?

assuming the reg is working correctly it means the fuel pump is not flowing enough fuel to maintain the required pressure, it may not show in the afrs when tested because their may be enough fuel in the rail and the speed density calculation has been altered and holding the injectors open longer to get the desired amount of fuel into the engine, ie if the correct fuel pressure was maintained the injectors may be required to be open at 65% duty cycle at 5500 rpm but because the pressure has dropped the injector may be required to be open to 75% to get the same amount of fuel into the engine (numbers have been made up as an example).

as the fuel pump gets older and does not pump as much the engine will start to lean out, having excess flow into the rail I.e. having the correct size pump/s maintaining correct fuel pressure and fuel flow in the return line, will result in a huge safety margin that allows for some loss of fuel flow

Reading all this and what people are doing..what's the right way of setting a E85 fuel system up..

Surge,

PumpsX2

Intake pump

Reg

Fuel rail

Fuel lines.

Know guys with just a intank pump.

Guys with intank and inline pump only.

Are they playing with disasters?

What's the perfect fuel system for E85?
