My missus suggested that united shouldn't be advertising the fuel at all without sufficient warnings about compatibility and an asterisk with a disclaimer saying not suitable for all vehicles isn't enough.

We all have a common interest and research new stuff when it comes to cars however the average person especially women don't. They would compare it to e10 which is already suitable for all modern cars and not necessarily understanding what the 10 or 85 means. Sure it says 85% ethanol, but how does someone with no knowledge of how a car works understand that their fuel maps will need to be adjusted.

Whatever brochure united have about the fuel should be at the pump (like BP) not in the store and clearly state the compatible vehicles.

I did argue about it at first but I do agree. I have always wondered why we don't hear anything about people putting e85 in unsuitable vehicles. Turns out I was right and it does happen.

Surely the flap that sits over the nozzle that you have to lift first to fill up should be some sort of indication. I think united are doing plenty to keep the wrong people filling up. If people are going to go through their life in a daze then they deserve to pay.

Henz no where did I mention she thought about putting it in her car. She has a psyc degree and a pretty good idea of how people think. She was looking at it from average joes point of view and late face it, people are getting dumber and dumber these days as you can see from the story.

Good point Henz at the end of the day the consumer is paying for it. It's up to them to find out what they are buying. The idiot on the tv shouldn't be complaining at all. The rest of the story was ok as far as a warning goes about the fuel but without her there wouldn't be any story cause that's how the media scum works.

Anyway I'll shut up about it now. Back to jets question.
