No, its an auto. Extreme Street Performance in Queanbeyan. They have tuned a lot of these and have some tricks to make good reliable power on stock set ups that comes on nicely.

Question, will the fitment of a bigger aftermarket intercooler, dump pipe and high flow cat always = need for new tune or is the ecu capable of learning the increased ability to breathe?

I'm fairly sure it runs in open loop at WOT from off the pre-set tables and will only adjust fuel trims in closed loop ... so no.

My FGXR6T has done 150,000kms and over 10 full track days.

Has been run round 17psi for the last 80,000kms too.

Have always used Royal Purple Sythetic changed before every track day, every 7,500kms or so.

Turbo line mesh filter was checked at 70,000kms approx. but was completely clean. Replaced anyway. Switching to Earls filter and heat wrapped turbo line soon though.

To answer the question, like anything it depends on how you look after it. If I ran it stock with no track days, I would expect 400,000kms out of it.

With my track days and high boost, very happy to get close to 170-200,000kms.

I agree Mexican, the FGTs can feel more "diesel like" with power all through the range....

I have replaced my turbo at 175000klms recently and so far so good, fingers crossed. Performance car place said the oil line and filter replacement to Earls (or similar) is essential as they get older (wish I knew that beforehand!!)

Regular servicing helps, but its no guarantee - turbos in any model car can go anytime with bad luck.
