Could someone PLEEEEASE helpme. My son has a ford xr6 turbo ba 04 model, It has a rough idle when stationary at lights or corners. I have a new battery in it and was told that if you change the battery you need to get the car reset, spoke to ford and told not the case. Ended up putting the car in at ford penrith and they said I needed to change engine mount, done this and still no good. Long story but the guys at ford told me nothing but on the paperwork I noticed that the cam sensor is burnt , could someone please tell me where this is on the car and how to fix. im no mechanic but im pretty cluey and will have a go if not too hard.

This is really driving me crazy, the car runs great aside from the idle. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Depending on what area you live in you might be better speaking to one of the forum sponsors. These guys are pros on these cars and will be way quicker

in diagnosis and repair and Im sure way better bang for buck than any Ford dealer will ever be.

Havent heard much about cam sensor issues. Most common issues would be sparkplugs, coilpacks, vacuum leaks.

Would injectors getting a bit old cause a rough idle? Again what was said above you are better taking it to someone in the know.. Especially since its an 04 model people might give you all kinds of wonderful solutions which could hurt the pocket.

Zerosignal, spot on.

A throttle body and injector clean helped my rough idle. Mine still isn't perfect, and apparently until I actually replace injectors it will stay that way..........
