keeping the inlet tract as short as possible combined with few bends and a free flowing exhaust, enclosed in a sealed air box picking cold air from outside the engine bay is the best option, but then you have to consider how loud the intake noise will be, whether it suits what you want from your car and whether it is too loud to be legal, noise regulations apply to inlet as well as exhaust.

Well I have numberplates to live up too so it has to be pretty loud.

Just thinkin bang for your buck, already got a k&n filter with more holes in the bottom of the standard intake. This is good for 300 which is all I want and you reckon a dump would be more useful then an airbox so might try that.

Plus it's easier to throw in an airbox over a dump later on if need be.

You can have 2 cars both making similar power, lets say 300 rwkw, one car has minimal mods, maybe injectors and a tune, another car has the same power, but has cooler and better flowing exhaust with the injectors and tune, the 2nd car will be working easier to make the power and will do it more consistantly and for longer with out things going wrong

and that right there is exactly why im only looking for around the 300rwkw with the following mods, pw stage 2 and turbo side intake, 12lb actuator and flapper mod, ID1000's, 4in dump and 5in cat and valve springs for peace of mind.

well that is until im used to that power level and decide to change the turbo :mosking:

sure I could reach that power level with very minor mods but as mick suggested, the car would be working much harder to achieve the same outcome.

I have very similar mods too yourself but I have ported my wastegate instead of getting the flapper mod. And I have a 3 1/2 inch cat back. Minus the valve springs. And although I didnt have much choice as my porting job on my wastegate was poor and didnt allow my tuner to control boost efficiently and caused me too run 20psi but that being said I cant say that I wouldnt run 20psi if it was done properly. Imo knowing that you can push more will cause you to get bored pretty quick of your 300kw and you will end up getting a retune. Just like most ppl say ive got a high boost and low boost tunes on there x cal and saying theyll run there little tune on the street and only run there big tune on the track theyll end up running the big tune alot of the time. Probly a bit off topic. Sorry

The V8 box and snork is maxed out at 350rwkw. This was proven on f6mark's car by two tune shops - separate dynos.

It doesn't matter if you drill out or letter box mod the box as the panel filter - including K&N - does not flow enough air. Bottom line, you can get past 500rwhp with the crossover but not with the factory box - dyno proven fact. You'll need to run a large conical filter and this case, he's running a growler. No doubt others on the market would achieve the same results.

So it's fine for everything bar F6's.

Porting the wastegate without putting on a bigger flapper is probably why it doesn't work, They should know that.

I've seen a couple of f6's now with a lot more than 350 and have retained factory air boxes. Nizpro didnt chane it on a frw of the cars ive seen, I think underneath just has a big hole in it.
