Well I picked up the new beastie and have been looking for some hints and tips on what to expect on picking up a new FG such as the best settings for the ICC and instruments, running it in, no cruise for the first how many k's etc.

For example, why has no one mentioned that the dash cluster lights dont come on with the headlights / parkers when you turn the lights on, but only when its dark enough. I had the sales team running around for 10 minutes wondering if a fuse had blown. or that the music stops when reversing? 2 things my VE SS didnt.

Im loving the silence of a new car. Everytime I went around the corner in the SS and gave it a bit you would think it dropped a suspension strut it was that bad.

Only complaint is the seat base seems a bit smaller than the commodores.

Apologies if there is a thread for these things. Pics to come.

Ummm, no cruise for x km's????

Does driving out of the dealership sideways count :-)

Agree with the oother points about the dash and reversing, but I actually like the radio being off while reversing....

Nice mate. Don't worry - the noises will come, lol.

As for running in - give it some nice extended runs and mix the speeds/revs up. Don't be affraid to give it some. Get the first service out of the way (3.5k) then run a fully synthetic oil. Living in Toowoomba mate you've got the climb up the range to load it up. That should run her in nicely. Enjoy.

Nitro I think

The stereo has to mute because it's so dam good you would never hear you reverse sensors going off as you hit the pole. I'm faken with you it sucks.

The main beams you can have on auto or override that and go manual.

The dash are auto and not much you can do. There is a little what looks like a button in the middle of your dash right near the windscreen. That's you light sensor.

Cover that and the dash lights come on. Day or night.

Your air con wont work as well if you do though. That button detects light and tells your aircon to work harder in direct sunlight. If it cant it wont.

Yeah I still can't work the lights out. They stay on but the dash flicks on and off when ever it feels like.
