Hunting Rpm On Warmup

Have noticed my car has been doing this for a while now.

Its a BF2 XR6T, Auto. Stock tune only mods are xforce catback, GSS341 pump, FPV airbox & cooler.

If I turn cruise on or just at cruising speed before its warmed right up, the rpm rise and drop by up to 400rpm.

Once its warmed right up its fine.

Have cleaned the throttle body and lubricated the boost solenoid regularly.

Doesn't bother me a whole lot as it doesn't affect speed and goes away once warm, would like it gone altogether though if possible.

Dumb question but is your aircon on when it does it?

Nope no idea then mate.. Had something similar in a BA but it was something to do with a belt and the aircon

Has it only been doing it since fitting the exhaust, and cooler etc? You say you only have stock tune?

I would have thought with those mods it would need a tune. Maybe something to do with that.

Its had the cooler and airbox since before I owned it, from what I understand the fpv stuff isn't that great of an upgrade anyway.

Couldn't say if it happened after fitting the exhaust.

With stock cat and not much changed on the intake, I wouldn't have thought enough restriction would have been removed to cause any issues.

Runs and idles fine, like I said only happens at cruising. Once warmed right up goes away.

you shouldnt need a tune after that I think. did you get a bigger dump pipe or cat with youre exhaust? and if so does it boost spike or anything once warmed up? sounds like it could be tuned out though. heard the b series have some problem with a s*it build up in the injector rail. maby try some injector cleaner??

Maybe it's something to do with closed loop running if it does it below the temp open loop is active? Maybe a sensor playing up?

I would definitely get it tuned anyway just for the performance increase. You must want performance or you wouldn't be doing the other mods, right? If the cat isn't upgraded I would do that first though.

Have a dump, cat, new turbo and nizpro stage 2 kit to go on, just don't have the time at the moment to get it all on and tuned, as its my daily and 3 hours drive to where I plan on taking it ( and nobody here in shepparton I'd trust to do it anyway)
