I have just received my T ute after swapping it for my N/A. I had my N/A for 2 weeks and didnt like the performance all that much. Dont get me wrong the T is great in performance but the build quality in my T is not as good as my N/A was.

*My toneu cover was crap, needs to be replaced.

*The cut around the tow bar was all jaggerd and uneven.

*Big scratch on the cup holder part.

*The air induction looks like its been cut with a hack saw.

*Spent $1200 on wax guard, rust proofing only to find out it wasnt done at all.

*To top it off the first night I was driving on the freeway doing 110ks my back tyre fell apart like a re-tread. I thought my diff blew up or something.

My N/A was perfect.

I took it back today and they said it should all be fixed by tomorrow.

Performance good.

Build quality ? They need to see less $ and put more time and effort into building this (I think) great car.

Bugger igsta......

A sad tale if I ever heard one!

My heart goes out to you, especially as our story is reverse!

We had a #$%@ french car before the T, and it was great for the speed and all the extra trimmings n stuff (was the winner in the Best Bang for your Buck Euro Hot Hatch Award for several years in a row!), but we were back at the dealers every month, less sometimes, for warranty work!!!

Since the T has arrived, it has been pure bliss........

Can only hope that when your problems are fixed, that you will have a wonderful life together and everything will be purrrfection!!!!

Best of luck!!!

I hear ya mate. One of the few ppl who have had bad quality builds in one aspect or another of their car. I think there would be no difference between the build quality of the N/A and turbo in general (correct me if im wrong), just that you got unlucky the second time around and got a few dud parts. Be happy you have not had some of the problems that others have had (faulty turbos, several diff and gearbox replacements) etc. But I do agree with you on the subject that Ford really needs to iron these problems out, and start to up the build quality a little.

Have fun with the ute, after the troubles are fixed you will never look back!

Sorry to hear of your probs mate.

I have to admit the paint protection I paid for was a total rip off and completely useless.

Last weekend I spent all of saturday cleaning and polishing the ute and A good coat of meguires gold class wax is alot better than that teflon paint protection sh#t that I paid for.

As far as bulid quality goes they have along way to go to match the subaru that I previously had..

good luck with it

1. I don't believe they make the Toneu covers at work any more, I believe they are sourced from a vendor?

2. Wax guard is not a factory concern but your dealers fault!

3. As for the tyre, again a vendor issue not Ford directly.
