Finally did sommet about exhaust! Got an X-force 3" twin. Before this I tried unbolting the rear section and it did indeed, sound very good but, it was too loud.

The X-force system was a bolt on job and took me 40 mins on a hoist. The cat pipes needed loosening from the headers to allow the X-pipe section to fit because they were about 15mm out of alignment which you have to reasonably expect when dealing with exhausts. Other than this it fitted very well and actually has better ground clearance from the front mufflers than stock. Although the X-section has slightly less clearance but it's a bees' dick.

Now the sound. It could be construed as being too loud by over zealous f*cks but not at every rpm or load. I think it's just right in terms of volume and the sound is nothing short of amazing! It's got that cross between a competition rumble and an exotic like a GT40. It's addictive to the point that I can't stop driving it, even if it's just up to the shops(don't worry I don't park it in the carpark)

Performance wise, it's definitely got more in it but it's probably lost a smidge of torque off idle which, is ok. I went to pass a slow arse(55 in an 70 zone) this morning on the way to work and ended up looking through their side window over my bonnet:) I eased back and straightened up and it was like slingshot outta there:) Maybe I shoulda used 3rd instead of 2nd? :)

Here's the stocky...

Looks awesome mate! What's it like compared to the diff dump? I have my rear section removed and am looking at the 3" xforce system but don't want to blow money on it if its not going to sound better than what I have now.

Hey nice setup, how do these handle on rough roads ?

Please be honest and unbiased , nothing annoys me more then when someone buys something and says it's great becuase they own it.

Are these Harsh on country roads and unsettling ?

Yeah and so far I've been dishonest and biased.

Cheers Jet, I think it sounds better than it did with the tailpipe removed. Sound is of course a personal choice. I had an x-force twin 2.5" job on my BA Pursuit and I thought it sounded better when I first put it on but, after it burned in I didn't like it so much.

This time it seems to sound better and better. It actually reminds me of the Bullit mustang in some ways. It has a fair amount of crackle on downshift.

I could send you a video from the interior but they don't usually do it justice unless you play it through a big hi-fi setup.

Are you all there ?

I was generalising about people in general who purchase a product and then say it's good just becuase they don't want to admit to themselves that it's a waste of money.

I was merely asking for a honest unbiased opinion... obviously it was a bad purchase or someone is a lil touchy !

I wasn't generalizing and I find your assumption that I might not tell it like it is when I already have, offensive! Otherwise why would you ask me not to bullsh*t?

You want to start again?

No wuckers, As I said, It's 3". You're not likely to gain anything from the cats as the stock ones are already very good.

It was a pretty straight forward question from the start and did not warrant anything other then an honest reply but clearly ....
