It's done just over 5000k's now so I figured that was enough running in.We started with a coupla baseline runs with the car completely stock an it achieved 284kw which seems about right for these. Then we flashed a generic recal into it and ran it again for an amazing 367.6kw!?Next up we changed to a smaller pulley and put a K&N filter on at the same time. which bumped it up to 388kw.What isn't often talked about is the huge torque increase achieved and how linear it is. This is truely the easiest and cheapest performance increase you can get! I think a good description would be that it feels like the car just lost half or more of it's weight.Driving it, first gear is a waste of time so I tend to just get it moving and change into 2nd and feed it to it progressively. Nailing into to 2nd just means bye bye tyres. As it is, you feed it progressively and it lights up again at about 3 grand. into 3rd and it's ballistic! Here's a vid of the last run. All you really hear is the blower whine because the stock exhaust is so quiet.

Before this I tried unbolting the rear section and it did indeed, sound very good but, it was too loud. The X-force system was a bolt on job and took me 40 mins on a hoist. The cat pipes needed loosening from the headers to allow the X-pipe section to fit because they were about 15mm out of alignment which you have to reasonably expect when dealing with exhausts. Other than this it fitted very well and actually has better ground clearance from the front mufflers than stock. Although the X-section has slightly less clearance but it's a bees' dick. Now the sound. It could be construed as being too loud by over zealous f*cks but not at every rpm or load. I think it's just right in terms of volume and the sound is nothing short of amazing! It's got that cross between a competition rumble and an exotic like a GT40. It's addictive to the point that I can't stop driving it, even if it's just up to the shops(don't worry I don't park it in the carpark)Performance wise, it's definitely got more in it but it's probably lost a smidge of torque off idle which, is ok. I went to pass a slow arse(55 in an 70 zone) this morning on the way to work and ended up looking through their side window over my bonnet:) I eased back and straightened up and it was like slingshot outta there:) Maybe I shoulda used 3rd instead of 2nd? Here's the stocky...X-force stuff....

What have you got in mind as far as the intercooler goes? I have been looking at the kits available and while they all seem great its a bit hard to justify the price! I'm sure something could be made up for about half the price..

The mustang kits look like they have a small heat exchanger compared to the herrod/kpm kits but its probably pretty easy to swap it out for a big one. Keen to see how it turns out and what fittings etc you end up with.

vixenf6 Member 84 Member For: 11y 3m 10d Gender: Male Posted 04/02/14 08:03 AM Share Posted 04/02/14 08:03 AM Hey Southside,Cheers man. Yep read your thread...good fun there!I'm really only doing the exhaust so I can hear it and so it sounds good....haven't heard one yet with the rear muffler removed that sounded any good I'm afraid. There's a few getting around with a Manta cat back that sounds even worse because they don't merge the pipes..sounds like an old 308 statesman thong slapper!?I won't be doing E85, petrol only. Partly because you can't buy it anywhere and partly because of all the hassles involved with the fuel system. I'm going to go as far as I can with stock injectors.I'll be doing the intercooler enabling myself so it won't cost anything like what these mobs are charging for it. This is my work ute afterall. Pictures work now apparently...Hey nice setup, how do these handle on rough roads ?Please be honest and unbiased , nothing annoys me more then when someone buys something and says it's great becuase they own it. Are these Harsh on country roads and unsettling ?
