Ba Premium Brake Brackets

I am looking at doing a brake upgrade to my standard BA 298mm setup I have fitted to my Jeep. From what I have been told is that the BA Premium FPV setup with the 325 rotors is a direct bolt on and that the calipers are actually the same as C5 Corvette's but with a different bracket of caliper cradle. It is much cheaper to buy the calipers out of the US but wondered if the FPV caliper cradles can be bought separately? Rang the local Ford dealer but was a bit clueless without a VIN.

Only have 17" Ford BA XR8 wheels fitted so can't go to Brembo's even though I have a couple of pairs of brand new Brembo calipers from a SRT 300C I could use.

HI,

Im pretty sure that you will struggle to buy the caliper mounting side separately, its tricky enough to get a C5/6 caliper on their own. If you have 18" BA

XR8 rims, you can run your Brembo calipers and correct rotors but Im unsure if you will fit those 325mm rotors and C5/6 caliper under a 17" rim. Others on this forum may have some more info.

Thanks for your reply. I have an inch of clearance from the caliper to rim now so should be able to fit the larger setup. These are not genuine rims and ordered them with the E series offset which gives me a little more clearance.

Excellent result, just flush out the brake fluid with new stuff and of course use the best pads you can afford. Pad selection makes a massive difference as to how an entire brake system performs, but most importantly, feels. Enjoy your new brakes mate!

The BF setup or the BA Premium does your mate have? Be very interested if you could find out which ones, colour and price please.

They are a BA caliper with a Bracket that allows the fitment of a 325mm disc. I will get come pictures tonight

I think the Calipers are C5's but they do look very similar too yours so you may only need the brackets
