Can vouch for Monsta Torques tuff zf builds.. There are some cars out there making well over 1000nm at the tyres and holding still..

I've had mine built and Custom tuned and it feels completely different and quick positive gear changes.. Haven't ran it down drags yet but will soon hopefully at 350 and 395rwkw's

They will also build your box if you send it too them if interstate.. I believe (quick 1) did this and he is making monster power

Cheers

Yeah, Rob built my ZF. Sent it over from Brisbane and it was back in a few weeks. Very happy with the way it performs on the street, even drove it around for a couple of days on my E85 tune of 620rwkw and 1200nm and it performed surprisingly well at this level..

plenty of time when driving 'spirited' and holding steering wheel with one hand and gear lever with the other, when going in/out of turns or braking hard etc. unintentionally will cause the stick to go back into 'D' (say a tight left hand turn) or change gears up/down. I would prefer if it would stay in sports shift mode, and not be able to return to 'D' without pressing button

maybe its just me and my heavy hands

OK

just picked up my XR6T after the ZF tune, Ali at BTA advised that the box will take around 1 week to adjust to the new tune

First impressions are that it now shifts quite quickly/postively, yes it is harsher than standard, but no thumps or bumps

2 biggest things I was impressed with are:

1. the dreaded ZF lurch from 2nd to 1st when pulling up to a stop is much improved

2. the change from 1st to 2nd used to have a bit of a fart, now it spins the tyes during and after the change

The shift points/kickdown are much improved, the box seems ready to kickdown and launch the car, when previously it would hesitate before getting into its stride

Will see how the box goes over the next week, but would definitely recommend it to other ZF owners

Cheers

Armando

This lurch/thud, is it when shifting from 2nd to 1st manually?

If I drive in manual and let it shift down itself it'll only go down to 2nd. If I shift it into 1st manually while still slowing, it'll get a thump though.

Left in auto or perf auto, does the trans select 1st once the car is stationary or always just take off in 2nd (unless its being nailed)??
