Hey man I got my Zf tuned with sct xcal3 about 3 weeks ago best money spend :newrussian:

Its different driving it, you can feel changing gears hard, quicker than before until get use to it, when coming to the a stop goes straight into first for ready to launch :) with out the tune normal your car goes into seconded.

I notice its chirpy now car really want to go harder quicker off the line!

And good doing Zf Tune make your gear box last longer as possible with power your making !!!

Firming up changes and things like that doesn't make it last longer. Def better and stronger shifts but people after getting this tune done are breaking there box with in a few days and some cases runnIng their cars up On the dyno.

I understand that the factory ZF programming allows lots of slip to smooth changes out, and the tune can remove this, thus resulting in increased longevity.

But I'd imagine under WOT applications it would be more stressful on the internals.

Breaking on a dyno? I guess maybe they test out the shifts on the dyno then go back and alter settings like they have to do with the engine tune.

Don't understand how people could break them on a dyno because of a ZF tune. It's not like you nail it in first on the rollers. Most shops are getting their heads around it. The numbers given initially were are starting point. Mine went back twice before I got it exactly as I wanted. It is awesome now - no way would I go back to a sludgy stock shift.

Wonder if tuners could start selling generic tunes as all zf's are the same

I think somebody was flogging them on fleabay, lol. Given that most need adjusting to get 100% right - mine did - I doubt a 'generic' tune would be very good.

I think tuners will tune the zf pretty much all the same for the average person looking to get more out of the zf

so im with freeze, I think a generic tune will be the go in the future.

dont associate generic tune as bad, a generic tune on the zf is not as bad a genric tune for an engine.

That same place has been selling parts that are used for the cost of new items too, no wonder that have been for sale for ever

Like the old haggard PWR cooler they are listing that costs more than a new improved one LOL
