I have a 2005 kona stinky that hasn't been used in 4yrs, has been wall decoration. needs fork seals done and brake master cylinder seals due to no usage.

bike was well over 3k back then, still rides awesome and current bikes are about the 5k mark !

Sorry for the delay KV. Been having troubles with this site. My bike retails for about $5k but picked it up on a run out sale for $3k. Been out riding it today and had a ball. I love the duel suspension, very forgiving which is great for my limited ability.

I do like the hardrock but I think the Scott has a better spread of components, 100mm forks with lockout will be more versatile, and a full shimano drivetrain is an advantage. The 80mm forks on the hardrock probably don't have enough travel for your size offroad.

Just buy the stinky! that's a bargain!

But yeah, go the Scott. Slightly better components and you'll love the lockout on the forks if you decide to ride long distance on the road.

Ok, so ive visited a few bike shops, and ill be brutally honest, fk they are sh!t sales people, they are pretty much do you wanna buy it or not?

Never explain the features, never get the bike out to show it off - absolute wankers !

Ive spoken to a small store in Carlton, bloke on the phone actually sounds like a decent bloke/whos what hes talkinga bout, explained a few things, and actually recommended a different bike.

Im pretty sure its better specced than the other bikes I meantioned? Rockshox forks/hydro brakes...

Hey mate, only large and XL so make sure you test it out first, darts are rock shox bottom end forks, but still ok, the rest of the components sound ok but I have no experience with Fuji or their frames, I think they are fairly well know in road bike circles but relatively new to mtb? Not sure how they stack up

Yeh Trainer, will be checking it out tomorrow, yeh the bike is close to $900 anywhere else as well, dunno about the colour, any idea how to paint ? haha

That looks like a pretty good bike for the money. Great components for a $550 bike. Id buy it. Your not gonna do much better than that in that price range. When it comes to the frame its not like your gonna do big drops on it or use it for competition and most frames have a fair bit of warranty on them. I say bite the bullet.
